What is God's Will For My Life?

Have you ever wondered what is God’s will for your life? In fact, there are times where I ask myself even to this day, “Am I doing God’s will?” But I don’t necessarily mean it in the sense of I’m lost and don’t know what to do with my life. It’s more in the way of am I doing everything possible to make sure I’m fulfilling God’s will for me.

You see, we spend a lot of time trying to figure out what our purpose in life is rather than just seek God and let the pieces fall into place. We waste a lot of time worrying about every little thing, that we kind of miss the point of God’s will.

So how do we do this letting the pieces fall into place? That seems awfully hard to do when life is not the easiest, or your home life is a pain, friends are bringing you down, or you are having a hard time not doing sinful things.

Look at what Romans 12:1-2 says in the Message Bible:
So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him. Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you.

In order for us to truly know that we are following God’s will for our life, we have to give everything to Him, our mind, body, and will. When we do this, He begins the process of helping us be more like Jesus. To take it a step further though, for me to live in God’s will, is to be an influence to those around me. I know I make a ton of mistakes, but I want to strive everyday to show Jesus to those around me.

I believe it’s time for us to stop saying to others, and ourselves, “I can’t live this Christian life,” or “It’s too hard for me to give up certain things in my life.” It’s time for us to make a stand and live bold Christian lives. Let’s make an impact while we are here on this earth.

So you want to know God’s will for your life? I can tell you one thing, seek after God with everything you have, and His will for your life will be perfected in you. I’m not saying your life is not going to have its challenges, but God’s will for your life will be perfect. There’s no better place to be than in His will because then you know that He is always with you every step of the way. Make the decision today in your mind to live for God in every area of your life and see what happens next.
